J.Co Donuts & Coffee set to open in Davao City

It was last week when I first read the post of a DKK (Dabawenyo Ka Kung) member on Facebook about J.Co's expansion in Davao City. I was a bit skeptical so I tried to do a little googling about it but didn't find any concrete proof to further back the report. I don't really like publishing anything that's not confirmed (learned that from my Media Ethics class and from watching The Newsroom. haha) so I didn't blog about it yet.

Because I was really excited with this development, I sent them a message through their Facebook page last night asking them to deny or confirm (yes, that was so showbiz. lol) the report and just this morning I received a response from them. And yes, J.Co Donuts & Coffee is indeed opening a store in Davao City real soon! Yeeeey! :))

They told me that they already have a space at SM Lanang Premier but hasn't started the construction yet.
Hi Aldwin, Yes, you're right! We already have a space in SM Lanang but construction hasn't started yet. Our target date of opening is mid 2013.
Regards, J.CO Philippines
The message didn't contain specific details about their expansion but I've read in an online forum that their store will be located on the third floor of SMLA.

If I'm not mistaken, J.Co hasn't opened any store outside of Metro Manila yet so if I'm right, this is gonna be their first venture out of the metro unless they're gonna open in Cebu or any other city before their Davao City store will.

Confirmation: After doing further googling I found out that J.Co has currently 7 branches in the country and they're all in Metro Manila- Megamall, Mall of Asia, Greenbelt, Trinoma, Fairview, Alabang Town Center, Eastwood.

It's already February and their target opening is really nearing. Been hearing good words from my friends about their Donuts and I can wait to taste them all myself. Haha Will surely give you updates about their progress if I get any.

Don't also forget to share the good news! ;)

  1. I've tried their donuts and all flavors are yummy but I got to take home 2 dozens to Davao from my trip in Manila after waiting in line in their store for almost an hour. The line was outrageous stretching from the outside part of the store in MOA but the people were willing to wait. Now it is DAVAO's turn to enjoy it.Yahoo

  2. When i first bought my J.Co donuts from SM MOA, the line was quite long. Yesterday my friends had to line up for 2 hours at Trinoma just to buy the donuts. The person before them has waited for 3 hours... Hope this does not happen here in Davao. The management should come up with a plan to cut the waiting period as well as the loooooonnnnnnggggg line.

  3. Hi guys! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've read somewhere that J.Co has already launched their own delivery services to address long queues in their stores. Sana nga it will solve the problem and hopefully hindi yan mangyari sa Davao.

Not that I don't want them to get more customers but sana they can think of ways to avoid long queues 'coz it's very stressful talaga. Hehehe

  5. Hi Aldwin,

Based on my taste test, I find JCo.'s less sweeter than their current biggest competitor. They also have exciting flavors so it surely is a treat for us here in Durianburg to welcome JCo. By the way, their waiting lines are reaaaaally long despite the 7 branches in Manila. :) enjoyed reading your posts!

    1. Hello Ina_Tay! Thanks for sharing your experience with J.co. :)

My friends have told me the same thing, that's why I'm very excited with this development. I've also heard the horror stories about long lines, hopefully they've already thought of ways to avoid it. Very low pa naman tolerance ko when it comes to waiting. Hahaha

See you around Ms. Ina_Tay! :)
